SCAD 2009 Juried Photography Exhibition

SCAD student, faculty and alumni photographers are invited to submit entries for a juried exhibition to be held in conjunction with this year’s Atlanta Celebrates Photography event. The exhibition is Oct. 17 at Atlantic Station.

Submission Guidelines: Entrants may submit up to three entries in jpeg format, sized at 800 pixels on the long side. Entries are due by Sept. 22, 11:59 p.m. All selected works will need to be framed for the exhibition. If your work is selected for the exhibition, you will be notified via e-mail and be given further details. A fee will be charged to cover show expenses (approximately $25) to those accepted.

Entries must be labeled:
Last Name_First Name_Title of Work (example: Doe_John_Awesome.jpg)

Along with your submissions, please include the following information:

Name, e-mail address, photography medium, dimensions, year, and price (if applicable).

Minus: An Exhibition
Press Release, JUNE 2009


Minus, an exhibition featuring emerging artists from across the country and from several different minority communities, including Black, Latina, and LGBT, the combination of which verges on the majority. Works will be of multiple mediums, including painting, sculpture, printmaking and photography, and deal with issues of identity: gender, sexuality, culture and the body.

THE MINUS EXHIBITION, June 26th to July 11th
LOCATION: Studioplex, studio #143, 659 Auburn Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30312
OPENING RECEPTION: June 26th 2009 from 7pm to 9pm
OFFICIAL DATES: June 27th, July 3rd, and July 11th from 12pm to 3pm, and for Studioplex’s Second Wednesday on July 8th, 6pm to 8pm. All other days are by appointment please.

The show’s title “Minus” represents how women and minorities are underrepresented in the art world. This group exhibition is designed to manifest the influence of the “minority” on contemporary culture and on the art world.

Another Trip to Savannah!!!

Hi all!

Due to popular demand, another delivery trip to Savannah for the Silver Works Exhibition will be made!

For those of you who did not get your work into Jason, I am now letting you know officially that I will be making a trip tonight to deliver your work. Please have your completed paperwork packaged within your ready-to-hang art work, delivered to the 5th Floor Graduate lab tonight by 8pm. And, please no loose paperwork, I won't be responsible for loosing it!
I will be delivering the work Friday morning to the Savannah people.

Silver & Ink Exhibition Packet information

Attached is the Silver and Ink Exhibition information. You need to fill out the packet and send it with your work, with the CD that you were to make to accompany your framed piece(s). (need a CD with images in the S & I Exhibition @300ppi @ 12inches on the longest side in TIFF format)
Be sure that your metadata is filled in.

Unfortunately the Exhibitions Department has canceled their trip to ATL this week. They will not be able to pick up and deliver the ATL Silver & Ink work to SAV.

Framing size and style is your choice. Pack the work carefully. Mark the package FRAGILE. Make sure all the paper work is fixed to the back of the frame. It needs to be in Mike’s hands no later than Monday April 20th.

The frames can be any size and any style they want. The reception will be Friday April 24th 6-9pm at The River Club 2 MLK Jr Blvd.
